"If Nosotros Ever Encounter Again" is a song past American producer Timbaland. Information technology was released on Dec 1, 2009, as the fourth unmarried from his third studio album Shock Value 2 (2009). The vocal features vocalizer Katy Perry and served as the album'due south 2d worldwide single. Timbaland'due south brother Sebastian also has uncredited vocals at the end of the song. "If Nosotros E'er Meet Over again" reached number one in the Czech Republic and New Zealand while peaking within the top 10 in Australia, Austria, Kingdom of belgium, Canada, France, Deutschland, Republic of ireland, State of israel, Italy, Kingdom of norway, Poland, Slovakia, Espana, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Timbaland told MTV that volition.i.am'south work on "I Gotta Feeling" past the Black Eyed Peas inspired him to make "If Nosotros Ever Meet Once again": "When I did this vocal, I was in beloved with this tape chosen..... yous're gonna be surprised. The record didn't have anything to do with ['If We Ever Meet Over again'], but when I heard [the Black Eyed Peas'] "I Gotta Feeling", I said, 'I want a record merely like that on my album.' I said, 'I gotta do me a "I Gotta Feeling" record.' Me and 1 of my producers, Jim Beanz, we came up with this concept. I said, '["I Gotta Feeling"] is happy, but I like information technology.' It gives a good feeling".[1] On the record, Timbaland sings, instead of raps: "It'due south non like it'southward incredible singing, but information technology made sense for me and it fits my phonation," he explained. "To get somebody else to sing information technology, it might sound too overdone. I similar information technology better with mistakes — I make mistakes. The music video was filmed in Dec 2009. It was directed past Paul "Coy" Allen, who directed "Forenoon After Dark" and "Say Something".[i] [2] Timbaland told MTV that he wanted the video to exist serious and maybe have Perry playing his guardian angel: "I wanna make something deep, I don't know if I wanna make it like a human relationship. I wanna make information technology similar she saved my life with whatever depression I was going through, whether it be drug depression, weight-loss depression — something..... Volition she be around if I go through this once more?".[1] The vocal debuted with its video premiere on January 18, 2010, on UK music channels,[3] charting at number one on many of the music channel video charts. The video, rather than focusing on a serious human relationship, every bit mentioned in a higher place, focuses on the dear story between a gem thief (Julian Graham) and an art thief (Nadine Heimann), interspersed with Perry and Timbaland singing.
